Description
Blueberry Patch Campground is a small, semi-primitive campground located along Picnic Area Road (County Route 2), next to the large blueberry patch it received its name from. This is a popular spot to gather berries when they are in season. The berry patch features the high bush as well as low bush blueberries. The campground gate is open from May – October 31st. From late fall to early spring you may walk in and camp, but there is no water available. Sites are available on a first come-first served basis, with a $5 per site per night camping fee.Directions
From the South, take State Route 17 (I-86 in some areas) to exit 52 (Watkins Glen exit/State Route 14 North). In Watkins Glen, turn right on State Route 414 North. At the Fourth St. intersection go approximately 9 miles north, past the Hector Ranger Station of the Finger Lakes National Forest on the right. Continue for ¬? mile and turn onto County Route 2, which is the next asphalt road. Travel for 4.0 miles east. Blueberry Patch Campground is on the right. From the North, take I-90 to exit 41 (414 south to Hector, NY) the second asphalt road on the left, ¬? mile past Wickham‚Äôs Plaza is County Route 2, turn left and go 4.0 miles east. Campground:There are nine campsites available on a first come-first served basis, each with a fire pit, a place to park, and a picnic table, some of which are handicap accessible. This campground is best suited for tents or small campers. There is a hand pump available for drinking water, and two handicap accessible vault toilets. Dumpster service is provided from May – October 31st. A campground host is usually provided at this recreation site. We rely on volunteers to staff this summer position. Day use area:There is a parking lot as you drive into the campsite if you prefer to park your car and hike, picnic, or gather berries from this location without camping.Reservation info
