Description
The park features two virgin redwood groves; Big Hendy (80 acres, with a self-guided discovery trail) and Little Hendy (20 acres.) The Navarro River runs the length of the park. Located in the middle of the Anderson Valley wine district, this 845-acre park is warmer and less foggy than redwood parks along the coast. The park is well known for a fallen redwood stump that was home for a man known locally as the Hendy Woods Hermit. Location/DirectionsActivities

(8 out of 9 members found this review useful.) Reply to ReviewWe love Hendy Woods as a family campground. There are great trails for easy hiking, the climate is wonderful, and it's only 8 miles from the town of Booneville, home of pizza, lattes and the Anderson Valley Brewing Company. The ocean is also a quick drive. Privacy is hard to come by on weekends in peak season, but otherwise a beautiful and quiet experience.
