Seriously, this park is a huge reason as to why our National Park Service was even established! If you want to camp in the valley and experience the popular half dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, Hetch-Hetchy Reservoir, and the famous Awahnee, I would recommend planning your visit for september through october if you don't want to deal with the crowds or year in advance reservations. If you are looking for a more extreme outdoors experience that isn't as crowded, then head up the 395 on the Eastern side of the park and experience the high Sierras or Yosemite. It's less crowded and there are less RV campers and it's one of the few places you can find First Come First Serve campgrounds: Porcupine Flats and Yosemite Flats. Honestly, if you have not been you need to, and bring your friends and family! Visiting Yosemite is on par with having a religious experience, this is something you must do in your lifetime!

Perhaps one of the finest properties owned by the National Park Service. Even if you aren't staying at the Ahwahnee, you should at least check it out and consider eating a meal in the dining room.
