Description

Unique campground run by Sumter County Parks and Recreation. 126 sites have individual water and electric but no fire rings. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park, but not present at each site. Horse stalls are available, and many sites have large poles erected to accommodate high-lines. A large bath house is available as well as a rustic picnic shelter and clubhouse.

The Palmetto Trail runs directly through the park, which serves as a trailhead for two Passages. The Passage heading north out of the park, the High Hills of Santee Passage, is open to equestrian use. The southerly passage, the Lake Marion Passage, is only open to hikers and mountain bikers.

All equestrians and mountain bikers must have a permit to ride on the High Hills of Santee Passage. Hikers do not.

Camping permits are also required to stay at Mill Creek Campground. Finally, the picnic shelter and clubhouse may be reserved for just about any purpose. Fees vary.
