Description

Salacoa Creek Park lies within the original bounds of the Cherokee Nation. In fact, it is just minutes away from New Echota, the capital of the Cherokee Nation in the early 1800's. It was at New Echota that the Cherokee held court, printed their bilingual newspaper and formed a government fashioned after the U.S. government. Vistors to Salacoa Creek Park will enjoy visiting the restored Cherokee buildings as well as the interpretive museum.

MY ADVENTURES WITH SALACOA BEGAN 20 YEARS AGO WHEN I CAMPED THERE FOR THE FIST TIME,VERY PEACEFUL NIGHTS AND LONG ENJOYABLE DAYS .JEWEL AND HER HOST OF ASSISTANTS WELCOME ALL WHO COMES ,OBEY THE PARK RULES AND YOULL BE JUST FINE IF YOU DONT JEWEL WILL LET YOU KNOW.GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE FAMILY AND KIDS LETEM ROAM WITH EASE OF MIND.AND GET THIS THEY HAVE LIFEGAURDS ON THE BEACH ,WHAT OTHER LOCAL CAMP GROUND EVEN HAS A BEACH AROUND HERE?JEWEL KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK,GREGG R..DALTON,GA
