Description
This campground is set on Eightmile Creek surrounded by mountains and trees with a beautiful meadow across the road. This is just a wonderful place to come and hang out and explore. There are trailheads nearby for hikers. Fishing, hiking and enjoying the area is what's happening here. There are 2 sites with tables, fire grates and a toilet. Became aware of this site in the book Rays Guides, free campgrounds in Idaho..Directions
From Stanley, travel east on Highway 75 for about 15 miles and take a left onto the Yankee Fork Road, Forest Service Road 013. Follow this road for about 3.1 where the pavement ends and continue on for another 5 miles where you will arrive at the ghost town of Bonanza City. Continue staying straight on the main road and in .5 miles you’ll come to a “Y†where you want to bear right. One mile further brings you to Custer City where there are gift shops and many historical buildings, picnic tables and a toilet. Continue on from here and in another 5.6 miles arrive at the campground on the right.Activities
