Description

Red Hills Lake is located a short distance from Toledo Bend Reservoir. Completed in 1940 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), this area offers camping, fishing and swimming on a picturesque 19-acre lake.

Activities

Visitors can hike along a short 1/2- mile trail to the site of a lookout tower built by the CCC on Chambers Hill. In consideration of other visitors, no off-road vehicles may be ridden in the campground.Red Hills Lake Recreation Area Info

Services

Whether in an RV or tent camping, visitors have 28 campsites to choose from. Each site has a level pad, picnic table and campfire ring which can be used as a cooking grill. There are nine sites with electrical hookups on Dogwood Loop.Hot showers, drinking water and toilet facilities are available within a short distance of each campsite. There is a swimming area which also contains a children's playground. A waste/dump station is available for RVs.

Fees

Open May 31 - October 1. $6.00 per campsite per night, $10.00 per night for sites with electric hookups (one vehicle per campsite).
