(5 out of 7 members found this review useful.) Reply to ReviewBeautiful as always! The water appears to be up from last year. Wonderful CLEAN bathrooms (with soap!) and temperatures you can not argue with (Highs in the upper 80's and lows in the upper 50's)
Great place to just relax.

(14 out of 15 members found this review useful.) Reply to ReviewCarolina Hemlocks is my families favorite vacation spot.It is the only campground we go to. We camp several times a year and we love it. We are tent campers and the campsites are always well maintained and clean. The campsites offer a fire pit, picnic table, pole to hang lantern etc.,and most sites have a nice level tent pad. The beautiful trees and the river make for a beautiful backdrop for the ultimate camping experience. The campground hosts are always so kind and helpful. They will even deliver firewood to your campsite for (four dollars a bundle the last time we were there). They offer tube rentals for a fun filled river experience. Campgrounds are well equipped with clean restrooms and showers. The river offers many great swimming holes, however, if you are going for the fishing, you may be hard pressed to find a quiet spot where the fish will bite, because there are many swimmers and people floating by on tubes. We have not had much luck fishing. It is difficult to get an open campsite during the weekend since they fill up fast so it is best to have a plan B or you will find yourself with nowhere to camp.

(6 out of 7 members found this review useful.) Reply to ReviewThis is my favorite park in North Carolina! If has a great tubeing run, a wonderful swimming hole with slow moving water, a picturesque trail along the river (makes for a good short trail run). The parks location makes for a great starting point for biking local roads (especially to the parkway... that takes some work!) Camp sites are well maintained and showers and new bathrooms make for an amazing wilderness experience :)
