(0 out of 0 members found this review useful.)Our experience was great! Our site # 9 was the best. Just a few feet away we had a Rock Shelf that look out onto the beautiful valleys and rolling hills of the Shawnee National Forest. And not too from the camp sites was The Observation Trail witch also had great big rock formation that you can walk out on to and enjoy the beautiful scenery (great for watching and sun set).
If you head to Elizabeth Town, they have a liquor store, bar, tourist info, gas station, and a very great place to eat Kandies. Kandies is the only place in the area with great character and great food. It is also the only place that is open up late.
Also if you head to Cave In Rock witch is also close by. You can take a free ferry across the Ohio river to Kentucky. Once there its all Amish community and great places to eat witch we are told however when we got over there it was too late so non were open and it was Sunday night.
We did not find any good places to buy wood for fire, however we where able to gather enough wood our selves in the surrounding area with an axe and a big hand saw. Witch kept us busy and warm in the cold weather.
