Description

The 1,200 acre Hardin Ridge recreational complex is located on the shores of Monroe Reservoir. Located just southeast of Bloomington, the area is easily accessible from State Highway 446. The area offers camping, picnicking, boat launching, swimming, nature walks, and interpretive programs in a forested environment. Hardin Ridge is currently operated under a concessionaire permit. To call the concessionaire's office at Hardin Ridge for specific questions, phone 812-837-9453 (during recreation season only).

Services

Hardin Ridge includes six shady campground loops, described in the chart below, with a total of 200 sites. Thirty-seven of these sites are walk-in which are primitive site without hookups or adjacent parking spaces. All loops are open in summer months, but some may be closed at other times of the year. With the exception of Eads and Southern Point, electric hookups are available at about half the sites on each loop. A maximum of 2 vehicles and 8 people are allowed per site.Centralized water, flush toilets, and showers are provided. On some of the campground loops, playground equipment is available, and fishing ponds, along adjacent loop roads, are easily accessible for campers.

Fees

Camping fees are $15.00 for non-electric sites, and $18 for electric sites. Sites which have both electricity and water are $21.

One vehicle is included in site fees. Extra vehicles are $4/day each.

Hardin Ridge is an AWSOME place to camp. Sites are priviate, shaded, and this place is close to anything you want to do. most camping places have their sites right on top of eachother, like touching usally. LOVED IT!
