(5 out of 5 members found this review useful.)Stoney gorge reservoir is a little known secret that few know of. The fishing is excellent. The boating traffic is minimal. The camp grounds are well maintained, except the vault toilets can get a little "ripe" in the summer heat. The squirrels that inhabit the campgrounds can be troublesome. Leave your cars engine hood open while parked to lessen the chance that the squirrels will make a shelter of your engine compartment. They have been known to chew wires and hoses. For the most part, the guests are friendly, and curtious. The weekend guests can be a tad "wild" and many come to "party". But since it's "free" to launch boats, and camp, who are we to complain about a few fun loving "city folk" trying to have a good time? Be prepared for ALL types of weather, as conditions can, and do, change in a moment! Overall, it's a nice place to bring your family, and enjoy a nice break from the hassle of the big city. Please help keep the camping "free" pick up after oneself, and don't ruin the experience for your neighbors! See you there!
