Description
This campground was recently dedicated and offers a fantastic camping experience within the popular Gila Box National Conservation Area. The diversity of recreational opportunities-- birdwatching, backcountry hiking, rafting and various water sports, to name a few of the most popular-- make the Gila Box experience a treat for anyone.Directions
From Safford, travel 5 miles east on AZ 70 to Soloman, then turn left onto Sanchez road and follow that to the end of the pavement. From there, follow the signs to the campground.Activities

(1 out of 1 members found this review useful.) Reply to ReviewLocal says; don't waste your time. The river is tough to get to on foot. There's no shade and you'll want some. A 4x4 is highly recommended to get there because BLM doesn't believe in maintaining the road after the winter or during the summer Monsoonal rains. Lastly, bugs. Enough said.
