Directions

Drive 11 miles north of Fort Collins on Highway 287. Turn left onto Highway 14 and travel approximately 50 miles west. Turn right onto signed road into campground (this will be approximately one mile past the turnoff for Laramie River Road).

Activities

hiking (near Rawah Wilderness and Comanche Peaks Wilderness areas), lake and stream fishing (boat ramp may be unusable in late summer due to drop in water level; gas and electric motors - wakeless speed only), scenic driving, 4-wheel driving, wildlife watching

This was my first time camping with my family, including two little grand-daughters. All I can think now is that I have been missing something BIG for all my life!!!!The convenient and roomy tent sites, Chambers Lake, and the beautiful snow-capped peaks all added to a wonderful experience I hope to repeat many times. And if that's not enough to get you moving, wait until you see the deep blue western skies and feel that dry air with just a slight breeze to move your hair!! I'm hooked!!!
