Leverentz Lake State Forest Campground

Of the two campgrounds, which are pretty much side-by-side with a marsh between them, Big Leverentz is the best choice. Sites are fairly well spread out from each other, there are lots of great trees for shade, and those sites facing the lake are prime. The 50-foot floating fishing dock is a cool feature, even for those who don't fish. Take a chair, a book and a cold drink and enjoy a nice afternoon on the dock. Little Leverentz campground is not nearly as nice, with quite a few cottages and homes along the shore. An added bonus to this place is that although it's only a couple miles from the city of Baldwin (which is a big convenience) you would never know it. This place is quiet, feels secluded, and rarely filled.
