what "ya'll" need to know is that there are a few places to camp here. There are campgrounds with water/electricity suitable for R.V.s, they're $18-$20 a night. They also have primitive sites for up to $6 a night (free during the winter months.) I spent 1 weekend here and can see myself exploring the other campsites here in the near future. Like mountain man said, lot of crappie fishin going on, also, a good series of hiking trails up to 5 miles. A great example of nature along with human intervention.

A friend and I went to Chevelon Canyon a few months ago expecting another easy-going Rim Lake experience. We were wrong. Access to the campground was a bit difficult, having been used to really smooth and easy roads on the other lakes in the vicinity. We tried to drive my 2WD truck down to the lake, but only made it about 50 ft. The road down to the lake looks extremely difficult, and frankly not recommended for any 2WD low clearance vehicle. When we set up camp, we then packed it down to the lake, which seemed like it took days. However, overall, it was a great experience. Weather was great, the few people we saw were nice, and the fishing is excellent.

Located just 30 minutes from Memphis, west off I-55, on Hwy 51 South, Hernando Point has 68 great RV spots with level pads, electric (30 & 50 amps), water for large RV's. Rent is low and security is good. If in the area, you want be unhappy with a stay in this park.
