Description
Red Creek Campground is a primitive, small campground that sits on top of the Allegheny Plateau and within the Dolly Sods Scenic Area. The climate and plant life here resembles Northern Canada.Campground Location Map click for directions
Activities
Hiking is available on a variety of trails.This area features unique scenery and unusually plant communities. Flowering laurel, rhodedendron and azealeas highlight this area from May through June. Huckleberry picking is popular during the month of July. Bird banding is performed in late summer and during the fall.The Dolly Sods Wilderness is located nearby.Guidebooks

(2 out of 2 members found this review useful.)We did not camp here. Very rugged area that was blasted heavily during WWII training and it still shows.Rugged,primitive, and very little wood or natural shelter. Interesting to visit but not for our camping needs.
