Mountainsmith Cross Country II - Internal Frame Backpack

Category: Backpacks

The 5000 cu in Mountainsmith Cross Country II is an internal frame pack that's perfect for multi-day adventures. The large front pouch can be detached for use as a day pack for peak bagging or day hikes away from base camp. The Cross Country II has both top loading access and a huge U-shaped zipper that allows full panel access to your gear. The panel access allows you to get to gear at the very bottom of the pack, without having to unload everything. Mountainsmith designed the Cross Country suspension to drive weight to the hips. The HDPE frame adds rigidity and keeps your gear from poking you in the back. Twin 6061 T6 aluminum stays transfer pack loads onto the waistbelt. The dual density waistbelt is a full 6"" wide at its widest point. Dual density foam uses a softer foam up close to the body to gently conform to the contours of your hips, with a firmer foam behind to support the pack weight and provide cushioning under load. The suspension is wrapped in an airmesh fabric that wicks moisture, keeping you cooler and dryer. Inside, there's a hydration reservoir pocket with dual exit ports. On the outside, there's mesh water bottle pockets on each side. These pockets are forward canted to allow easy access to your water supply while on the move. The top lid has an external top pouch with a hook and loop closure and an internal zippered pocket. Side and bottom compression straps allow the load to be cinched up for better stability and maneuverability in off-trail situations.
