Kelty Red Cloud 5600 - Internal Frame Backpack

Category: Backpacks

The Kelty Red Cloud 5600 offers a great combination of features, comfort and value. This internal frame backpack is a very popular choice with recreational backpackers. The Red Cloud 5600 comes equipped with Kelty's adjustable suspension system. The 3-layer ISO padded waistbelt is contoured and reinforced with plastic for comfortable load support. Kelty's Scherer Cinch uses a pulley like system to double the tightening force on the waistbelt, helping you keep more of the weight on your hips. The Red Cloud's anatomically curved shoulder straps are padded and adjust vertically for different torso lengths. The Red Cloud's load lifter straps lift weight up and off your shoulders, while the adjustable height sternum strap positions the shoulder straps across the chest to prevent chafing under the arms and on the shoulders. The Red Cloud suspension system also includes a rigid HDPE frame sheet which provides vertical support to the back panel, and keeps your gear from poking you in the back. The Red Cloud's pack bag has loads of features. There's both front and top access panel for easy access to your gear. The Red Cloud also features a separate sleeping bag compartment for stowing your bag low in the pack. The Red Cloud 5600 helps keep you organized on the trail. The large front pocket has internal organization. There's also an internal load pocket, zippered side pockets, a zippered stash pocket, a fleece lined optics pocket, and mesh water bottle pockets. The side compression straps and spindrift collar help you to cinch the pack up tight for a more compact and solid carry. If you like to take day trips away from camp, you'll appreciate the removable top pocket which converts to a fanny pack. At 5600 cubic inches, the Red Cloud is ideal for backpacking on 3-7 day trips.

Enormous capacity and plenty of storage pockets for all your gear. This pack includes some nice, unexpected touches like a padded pocket for sunglasses/camera, an internal plastic hook for car keys (don't want to lose those after a long trek!), and much more. I've used this pack for overnight backpack trips and traveling through Europe and it's worked great. Recommended!
