Despite its dense population and proximity to eastern urban centers, eastern Pennsylvania offers a wealth of hiking opportunities. North Mountain is still wild and remote; the Poconos still shelter the most secure portion of the state's bear population; and the Appalachian Trail follows South and Blue Mountains on its journey across the state. Saint Anthony's Wilderness, just 20 kilometers north of Harrisburg, is the second largest wild area in the state. Kelty Helps Haitian Relief Effort

Outdoor gear manufacturer Kelty is getting in on the Haitian relief efforts too and has sent nearly 300 tents to the earthquake zone since January. In one case, some of the Kelty tents were used to house 750 children left without parents after the disaster.
